Today in The Sydney Morning Herald
Most mornings, I wake up around 5.30am and have a quick skim of the headlines across multiple news outlets to see what has happened overnight. This morning, I was not expecting to make the front page of The Sydney Morning Herald.
Most sex workers are cautious of media for many reasons, mostly privacy and protecting their identity. At the beginning of my career, I made the decision to be ‘face out’ and have been fortunate enough to be supported by my family and friends, a privilege the majority of sex workers don’t have.
I choose to do media interviews because I am passionate about dispelling the misconceptions around BDSM and highlighting the stigmas faced by sex work, in the hope of leaving the place better than I found it & providing a voice for those who may not be able to speak up.
